Baby Marlee | A Birth Story: Part Two

In honor of Mother’s Day, I am posting the second part of Marlee’s Birth. I would like to wish my sister a Happy Mother’s Day and tell her how much I love her and appreciate her letting me capture such a special time in her life! I love you so much Hills and hope you enjoy your day with your new little girl! Enjoy….

Baby Marlee | A Birth Story: Part One

There are times in life that can’t be relived. Having a baby and capturing those first tender moments depicts one of those times in life.

I have been waiting patiently to capture my first Birth Story and I couldn’t be more excited that it was my little sister’s baby. As a previous Labor & Delivery nurse myself, I always loved seeing the look on the mother when she saw her child for the first time, the details in the room, and the miracle of welcoming a new little baby into the world. Hilary & Tim were kind enough to let me capture the birth of their new little girl Marlee. While it was a long night (not only for Tim & Hilary, but me as well) I couldn’t be more excited about the images I captured. This is one of those times that I hope the photographs tell the story alone….

Let me add a few little details….

The Nurse Anesthetist that gave Hilary her Epidural is actually our father. What an amazing Dad he is! While some people may find it awkward to have their father give them an epidural and be somewhat present in the delivery room, it’s such a comfort knowing he is there to help (he also gave me my epidural with my first child). It was such a special experience to have him and my mom there to share the joy of bringing Marlee into the world. Marlee was also born on my Dad’s birthday! She is named after her two grandma’s and two great-grandmas (one of which passed away at a very young age).

I can’t thank Tim & Hilary enough for allowing me to capture the birth of Marlee! It was an experience I will never forget and I hope the images I have captured will allow the memories of this day to stay fresh on your mind! I love both of you so much and I am grateful Marlee is healthy! She is adorable!

If anyone is interested in having me photograph a birth story of their own, please contact me for details! I would be honored to capture such a special day! As a previous Labor & Delivery Nurse (and a current RN), I not only know the routine of the delivery process, but I know what to expect. I understand the delivery set-up and sterile fields. I promise to capture your own birth story in every way possible!

I’d love to hear what you thought of these images…..make sure to leave comments below!
